Both Traci and Justin have already written about this, but I thought I'd write about it here, too.
Presidential candidate, Barack Obama, gave a brilliant speech on Tuesday in Philadelphia. If you haven't heard or read it, I highly suggest you check it out. It is about forty minutes long. So, it may be easier to download the mp3 of the audio and listen to it on your iPod. I was able to right click on the mp3 link and select "Download linked file" in Safari.
For me, it was long. I don't have a great attention span. At some point I was kind of bored with his delivery, which, oddly, for me is was a good thing. Often he is so impressive with his delivery that he could be saying heretical things and people would applaud.
With this talk, it seemed to be more about content. There were flashes of his eloquence, but overall it was as if he was more interested in getting the message out, than igniting passion within the listeners with a fiery delivery.
If you haven't heard it, take the time to listen to it.

I just listened to it while I was hacking out a spreadsheet.
I tell you, I just don't know what to think about Obama. I really respect and resonate with everything he said in the speech. And if he's the real deal, and not just spouting off what he knows we want to hear, them I'm excited.
But at the same time, he supports abortion and infanticide, and I just can't seem to reconcile that with what he seems to stand for in most areas...
It's going to be hard for any candidate to match up with your views completely. My stance is that you have to choose the few issues that really matter to you and pick based on those. If there is something completely off in a different area, maybe you add that to the list of things you are considering, and you weigh it against what the other candidates have to say about the same issue.
I'm not pledging any loyalty to Barack 'Yo Mama'. I just like what I hear him say more than I like anything else being said. Everyone sounds like the same old political mumbo jumbo.
Heard the speech last week...amazing.
