I came across this lengthy review of the Nooma videos a few days ago. You might find it interesting:

This is basically the thesis:
The gospel as Bell communicates it in NOOMA runs something like this: All of us are broken, sinful, selfish, and prideful people. We carry around the baggage of our hurts, our resentments, and our jealousies. As a result we are just a shell of the kind of people God intends us to be. But our God is a loving God who accepts us and loves us just as we are. He can comfort us, heal us, and make us whole, real, authentic, living, laughing people. Not only that, but Jesus came to show us how to live revolutionary lives of love, compassion, and acceptance. By learning from his teachings and following him, we can live the full and complete lives that God intended.
And that’s about it. That’s not just the introduction that leads to an explanation of the cross, atonement, the resurrection and salvation, either. So far, at least, that’s what NOOMA holds out as "The Gospel." Full stop.
Lengthy indeed.
I didn't have time to read the entire thing and if I said I would read it later, I'd probably be lying. I did read all of part one and about half of part two.
I think the question here is what is the point of the NOOMA videos. Are they supposed to be a complete picture of the gospel? Are they supposed to take someone from pagan to Christian in twelve minutes or less? I could be wrong, but I don't think so.
In my opinion, the questions he raises in the first half of part two are point of the videos. The videos do not offer all the answers on their own. What the videos do is open the door for those questions. They open the door for a conversation to be started.
I think the appeal of the videos is that they do not make Christianity out to be cut and dry. The videos don't lay it all out in ten minutes and end with an alter call. They leave room for questions.
I believe the videos are a great tool. I believe that I can sit down and watch these videos with someone who is firmly rooted in a faith in Christ or with someone who is a skeptic and have great conversations about the content afterward in either situation.
Interesting perspective... I agree with Shannon on the point of the Nooma videos. Each one starts a different conversation. They have actually led to me being able to have very real in depth conversations with others who wouldn't be receptive to hearing an entire gospel presentation.
