Presents
I just listened to a talk and the speaker said that he asked his kids this question...
If Christmas is when we celebrate Jesus' birthday, who should get the presents? He said they looked at him like he was a moron and said if it's Jesus' birthday then he should the get presents.
If we were to believe that, what do you think Jesus wants for his birthday?

our love and devotion
You know, before Jesus ascended, we walked around a LOT, and in uncomfortable first century sandals...
So I think He probably would dig one of those cool massage chairs from the sharper image... especially with the leg attachment that massages your calves...
No....
One of the last things Jesus said to His followers was:
"Love each other." I think that's what He wants from His kids for His birthday.
very true zack... I'll bet Jesus would like to see us loving those int he world around us a little harder.
i think the point is to view Christmas as a time to "give" more than to "recieve". It's hard though when people ask you all the time "what do you want?" - not saying i don't like getting stuff... just saying it's hard to keep things in perspective. Cause then if you dont need anything you start thinking about stuff you want...
that being said... i do think Jesus wouldn't mind seeing some people in Africa getting drinking water... or children there getting shelter.
Someone asked me, "How do you give Jesus gifts?" The best response I could come up with is that Jesus said, "What you do unto the least of these, you do unto me."
I think all three commenters have a good point. We are called to love God and love our neighbors. Jason's point is that we have about six billion neighbors, a lot of which fall into the "least of these" category.
the least of these... good point
